Keep cancelling yet Sky keep billing

I keep cancelling Sky, yet they keep billing. I get no help when I call and they keep pushing me from line to line, then saying it is cancelled but dont cancel it. Now my account is "restricted" (not cancelled, despite me cancelling it over and over again) for non payment of 25 quid, at this point I just want to pay it so I never have to speak to them again but can't without reactivating my account. They also are saying they will charge for not sending the equipment back, but I am still waiting for them to send me the packaging etc. I amcaught in a massive loop which Sky are not helping to resolve at all!! Does anyone have any advice?

Billing continues right up to the day that you leave so is this what is happening ?

I had a credit on my account, so I wasn't aware the account hadn't been cancelled properly as they took the paymnts from the credit and it only flagged once the credit was used up and the account went in to arrears. I was arguing this with them and getting nowhere. The account is now supposed to be cancelled again but instead it is showing as restricted due to non payment. I will need to call them again but the very thought of calling, explaining, being put on hold, then told I need to speak to a different department,then have to go through the security questions again. explain the situation again, etc etc ids depressing beyond belief..  as  I said earlier, I now just want to pay it off so I dont have to deal with it anymore but even that is problematic.

@tessaxxx  Did you receive email confirmation of your cancellation?

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.
