The e-mail makes no mention of being able to cancel, however I am 2 months into a 24 month contract, and they are trying to increase prices by over 16%, so I am assuming I can just go. with no early termination fees.

No. Annual price increase is normally in April but if you've recently joined the increase will have been delayed for a few months.

@mrtuk It depends on what service is going up, if its TV then no you cannot leave at all, if its broadband then yes you can but it would have told you that on the e-mail.

Re: Just got an e-mail saying my tv prices are going up - can i cancel with no early termination fee
This is for TV, and the e-mail does not mention anything about being able to leave early. I got a similar e-mail about broadband last week which did mention about being able to exit with no early termination fees if i do so within 30 days.
So when you say you 'cannot leave at all' , are you saying sky can just increase the prices whenever they want? I will check contract, but i'm pretty sure it mentioned a price increase for april 2026/2027, but not one in August 2024 (which is when these will kick in)

@mrtuk TV contracts do not have the "right to leave" when prices increase, Sky cannot just increase prices whenever they want, usually it only happens when discounts end or during the annual price increase which is April in the UK(might be a different time in the ROI), this may be delayed by 60 days or more if you join or renew shortly before the increase kicks in.

Re: Just got an e-mail saying my tv prices are going up - can i cancel with no early termination fee
I renegotiate my 24 month contract in February with discounts no price increases in April, but i got an email today from sky saying that i have price increase in August, I phoned sky and I was told that it is in the contract and that is the price increase from April this year and one increase is for Netflix

It's the April 2025 increase but it's been delayed because your contract (presumably) started in March 2025. There will be another increase in April 2026.

Re: Just got an e-mail saying my tv prices are going up - can i cancel with no early termination fee
Thank. So looks like I've been stitched up then, as I definitely discussed this with the sales rep in store when I signed up (as it was so close to April, I asked and was told prices would only increase in April 2026.) Unfortunately I this was verbally and I've checked through the contract and can't find any reference to this, so seems I'm stuffed.
I guess one to write down to experience and move on - I'll phone and put a complaint in, but won't hold my breath.
Thanks for helping to clarify.
