Identity stolen and ordered sky products

Evening,

Back in December I received a package from sky containing equipment, I've never been a sky account holder and the household is with virgin media and has been for last 20+ years.

I contacted sky to say I've received this in error. I was told to send back the items... broadband box and TV box that was sent and they would pass onto investigations team. I even had an sky engineer turn up to install... for last 3 months had nothing I just presumed someone used my details. ( they used an old mobile number haven't used in 10 years and very old bank details)

and now last week I've received a Debt collection letter for £29 for sky glass... which never even arrived.

I've tried emailing and live chat with no help

... they keep saying they tried to call me... obviously on the old mobile number or the email the scammer used to setup. All I've got is 1 letter actually from sky stating I owe £29 and now 2 ccs collection letters by post.

Can anyone help please?

@Grant0415  If ot's been passed to a DCA then you'll need to contact them as the debt is with them.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

@Grant0415

Unfortunately even if you managed to talk to Sky all they'd be able to do is confirm the amount they say is owed, the name of the debt company and their contact details.

Re: Identity stolen and ordered sky products

I've contacted the debt collection agency,

I presume sky will have to close it down, as last contacted I had with them was to say it was being passed onto investigations team.... I thought they had sorted it.. now I supposedly have sky glass services....

Once passed on to debt collection agency, it is out of sky's hand.

You can lodge a complaint through sky's website https://www.sky.com/help/articles/how-to-make-a-complaint-roi#message-us-only

But you need to come through with Ann agreement with the debt collectors separately while sky handle the complaints, to prevent the debt collectors sending sheriffs to enforce collection on the debt.
