I received a call from this number yesterday and they acutally askedm me for my password in full or my mother maiden name. When I went away to check the number was genuine they hung up. I suspect this number is being spoofed.

That's a password specifically set up to identify you when you call or message them. A genuine Sky representative wouldn't asking for any other log in password.

Highly unlikely. Hopefully you didn't give away any personal information.

I just finished a call from this number, didn't know my password off pat, so took mother's maiden name. Asked me what I like watching on TV I said depends on my mood. Asked me do you like sports. I say no, she hangs up. No, 'thanks for your time' or anything. Just gone. So disrespectful. Worst customer service ever. Blocked

Just received a call from 0800 *** 3372 supposedly from Sky. I was immediately suspicious as it seemed to be from an Indian call centre given her accent and the noisy background. At least she didn't say that she was called Margaret or something similar. She then said that she was calling to help me reduce my Sky bill. Within a second of saying that, the line went dead. Clearly a scam ... number is now blocked.

but that's not to say the number hasn't been spoofed.
With any unexpected calls from Sky if the caller asks for your telephone password to confirm you're the account holder (which a genuine Sky agent should) you could initially give an INCORRECT one on purpose. If the caller doesn't challenge it then you know it'll be a scam call.

I have also received a call from this number and I'm not sure it was legitimate. They asked for lots of personal details including my password, which I'm not sure if I should give out and also didn't seem to know the exact value of my bill, just seemed to repeat the estimate that I gave him. I ended up hanging up as it seemed very suspicious. He was asking lots of personal questions as well

It's specifically your telephone password that Sky would you for. No other. And they wouldn't need to ask you for any other details to confirm your identity except probably your name, if you have a telephone password set up.

You were correct to hang up, seeking as much personal information as they can get is a massive RED flag, scammers can pose as you if they have enough information to apply for credit cards, loans, cars etc

I too received a call from this number telling me times were challenging & he was going to help me manage my sky bills but he hung up & hasn't called me back. Strange practice!
