Re: I received a call from sky

I would block the number if we're you, I did if sky need to contact you they will use alternative means, email etc

Re: I received a call from sky

I got a call from this number as well. Also an Indian guy, could barely speak English....which fair enough I know lots of businesses outsource their customer call centre.

What made it odd though is that i already went through the rather tedious process of cancelling my broadband because i was out of contract and the new supplier offered a much better rate and faster line....so i had gone through the cancelling process was offered other deals on that call, none of which came close to my new deal, and then I finally cancelled and it was all agreed...so this call from this guy was a day after all of that....he said he could get me a deal that no one else could!

So a) why call after I had officially cancelled everything. b) if it was a legitimate call, why offer a deal after cancelling, and why can't this 'magic' deal have been agreed on the cancellation call. I didn't even stick around for whatever the deal was, because in principle it felt like a scam call and I just hung up, because im too busy for that nonsense anyway.

Presumably to try to get you to 'uncancel'

I imagine Sky's experience is that many customers just accept the price without a deal.

Re: I received a call from sky

You get an offer on email when you get notified that your contract is coming to an end.
You phone the call centre and they provide you with a second offer,....when you decline that

You get put through to the cancellations dept and get a 3rd offer.

So once you've declined 3 offers!....and then formally cancelled, why on earth should you consider a 4th.

Also once you've actually cancelled and its formalised with confirmation emails, you then go and arrange the new supplier. So its pretty frustrating to then get a call from Sky...pretty terrible customer service if you ask me.

Re: I received a call from sky

Far too many spam calls over the last year. I felt like reporting every one to Action Fraud only I don't believe it progresses beyond just posting about it. On the other hand all data pertaining to these calls is part of an ongoing investigation.

If you don't recognise the number I wouldn't speak after all they are calling you and they might want you to answer because your voice is your password to gain access to your bank.

Re: I received a call from sky

I had a call from this number today but the caller was clearly not a genuine Sky rep - claimed to be working for an agency other than Sky hence not having the personal details he asked me to provide...checked online and it's been a spoofed number for a while it seems...he hung up when I asked him to ask Sky to write to me to forewarn that I'd be getting a call to get my costs reduced...Sky if you're listening I'd love to get my costs down AND I'd also like you to sort these bandits out

You'll have to call yourself to negotiate and Sky can do very little about number spoofing and scamming...

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

Unsolicited Telephone Call

I received an unsolicited call tonight (23 Apr 2025) regarding my Sky Streaming Package offering me discounts. They knew my name and the call came from 761 3372 at 17:35, but after giving my Postcode as requested, I asked them to give my street name which I refused to give them. Not surprisingly they hung up.

I have been unable to get through on a Chat to anyone nor can I find a Tel Number for a Help line human.

Is this likely to have been a scam or was it genuine?

Of course any number can be spoofed.

Re: I received a call from sky

I received a call tonight from this number and is interesting that Sky claim it to be a genuine number. Having said that they say that if you are unsure, as I was, you can hang up and contact them to determine whether a genuine call or not. BUT they do not tell you haw to contact them (Sky) either email address or telephone number. Find that strange as I attempted to find that out tonight unsuccessfully.

@Artificer26

In my experience when speaking to Sky even if they have called me, they always ask for the telephone password so if they didn't and the fact they terminated the call I would be cautious about who it was that did actually call you.

Re: Unsolicited Telephone Call

This is the thing I don't get.

If you call them you have to give them the "password", yet if they call you, you still have to give them the "password".

it should be the call maker provides the password, that way we know the company is genuine
