I'm moving House on the 12th of May, I rang up this afternoon to see if I could transfer TV services

Well I rang up, the person on the other end was about as much use as a cardboard Teapot and that's being kind, she didn't even understand what I wanted?!

Basically, they told me when I rang up the other day that Sky don't serve the High Green, Sheffield area for Fibre, so I asked if I could take my Sky Q box as I'd rather not have to go on Talk Talk for TV (only other provider I can get, can't get Virgin and wouldn't if I could due to the non UK call centres)

Anyway, can anyone advise if I could move my contract for TV to the new address, and the equipment?

If your new property can facilitate a dish, then yes.

Transfer Sky landline to new address?

Above.

I'm moving to a new address in Sheffield on the 12th of May, I need to know if I can transfer my landline up there, preferably keeping the same number if possible?

I'm loath to ring CS because I did this afternoon on another matter, and the Agent was about as much use as a Cardboard Teapot and that's being kind.

Yes, you just need to arrange a home move. You may be able to keep your number. If you don't currently have internet calls, you're likely have this service at your new home.

If I was to cancel my account for Fibre, would I need to pay off the contract?

Above.

I'm moving House on 12.5.25, 14 days notice would mean ringing up on Monday 28.4.25, however, I've just renewed the contract circa last October as I didn't know then about my forthcoming change of circumstances.

Therefore, would I need to pay off a bit less than a year of my contract? (And it ain't cheap!) or would they refund the price of my current contract versus how many months are left?

I cancelled Sky Cinema last month, to try and save some money, and I've recently been in an ongoing battle to get rid of TNT Sports even though I specifically rang up circa last November to cancel it due to WWE going on Netflix in January this year. I successfully cancelled however BT's sent me a demand for a final bill of about £83 which I don't think I should have to pay as I cancelled more than 14 days ago.

Can anyone help?

@MrRichAllen1976  Yes you would have to pay off the remaining contract

as far as the bi issue that is something you need to resolve with them if you are paying them for tnt through sky

@SKY1992bf I cancelled TNT Sports nearly 6 months ago.

It's not my fault it's took them till towards the end of last week to actually action the cancellation.

Any reason why you can't perform a home move so you don't have to cancel?

@MrRichAllen1976

A home move has already been discussed on one of your other threads from today.

@PandJ2020 Apparently Sky don't serve the area I'm moving to.

I've just noted the other 2 threads... (Would have helped having 1 with the whole picture in)

However, if Sky cannot perform a home move with your current services then you might be able to reduce the early termination charges if they are so minded.

Agreed, my response was based solely on the information provided in this thread, which originally didn't include the information about sky not being able to move services

But if you were paying BT directly for TNT Sports, then its for you to take up with them if they didn't action the cancellation. Unless you were paying Sky directly for the TNT Sports pack, its not an issue for Sky to resolve.
