I paid my bill manually a day before it was due and now sky is still trying to take the payment even though it states on my account the bill has been paid, I they have tried to take it out my bank 8 times even though I pay through bank or credit card not direct debit

You'll need to call Sky as to why they are trying to take it the way they are. I would recommend not making manual payments unless requested to by Sky.

If you have a continuous payment method set up you should never need to make a manual payment. A credit will appear on your account for the amount you have overpaid. This should automatically be used to pay your next bill so on that bill date no/less money should be taken from your account. I would recommend not making manual payments unless requested to by Sky.
