How to speak to sky when in arrears

Through no fault of my own the sky account has now not been paid.  Basically in my husband name and due to separation/divorce proceedings he has decided to cancel direct debit.  No notice was given to me until I realised I had gone on restricted viewing.  I want to start up in my own name and pay but I can't get past the telephone as it states account is in arrears.

@Sarah234  If the account is in your husbands name they will chase him foir payment, as it's his account Sky would not speak to you in any case.

You'll need to call from a unlinked phone, but unless your husband cancels his Sky service it's unlikely Sky would let you sign up in yur pwn name.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

If the account is in his name then only he can cancel etc.  Any 'debt' is also his.

You may not be able to order in your own name until the account at the address is paid/closed.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own

@Sarah234

Your estranged husband will have to pay what is owed, restore his payment method then he can cancel. He is responsible for then returning loaned equipment. Once that's all been returned and logged you should be able to take out your own subscription and new (to you) equipment will be sent out.
