Had enough of sky

Been with sky for 12 years, broadband, TV, home phone and Mobile phone. Now my contract for broadband and tv are coming up for renewal I had a call from Sky. This guy, who is at the Indian call centre, started going through "the best possible deals" with me when I became a bit curious. The deal he was offering, can't remember the package, was £48 per month and by that point I was on sky.com looking at the packages for existing customers and the a same one was available for £38 per month! When I told I had a better price he asked where from and I told him, from Sky. I told him I wasn’t interested as he was just trying to rip me off and he went into a rant about " go on then keep paying to much for you broadband" I called sky straight after (21 April) and spoke to a nice lady in Bulgaria, but she was in the tech department so didn't have access to most deals/sales stuff. Told her what happened and she was really good about it and put a complaint in for me with her manager, and as she didn't have enough access to do me a good renewal deal she arranged someone to call me back, that was 21 April and still no call back. Tried the Facebook " sky Help team" who couldn't help. Then just spent over an hour with some guy in the retention team, well that's where he said he was, and again offered me a massively overpriced "deal". I'd already told him No god knows how many times. Sky used to be a great company but now I think they are the worst. Worst thing they have done is to put customer service abroad and no access to anyone from the uk unless your lucky enough to get someone from Scotland to answer ( who are, and always have been, great). Sky are lossing customers by the bucket load and if they can't see they have a serious customer service issue they will eventually go bust. Shame.  Oh and when I asked for a call back nobody seams able to arrange one so don't bother asking

Experience from previous forum posts indicate that if you want to negotiate a deal you have to call Sky. I agree they probably shouldn't offer a callback, when, from a dispassionate perspective, it's more in your interest to call them, than it is for Sky to call you to discuss a reduction in subscriptions.

The cancellations/retentions team are the best people to ask for to discuss a deal. I'm not sure whether they're UK based.

Re: Had enough of sky

Hi ,

I have tried calling sky and messaged them. They don't seem very interested in keeping customers even if they have been with sky for 12 years 👍

Call sky and ask to speak to the retention team, I did at the end of February because  my discounts on my and broadband packages were coming to an end, got a 24 month  contract. Tv package under £100 and my gigafast broadband  under £40

Hi Peter,

thanks but I've already spoke to someone on messenger who said he was with the retention team and all he offered was a complete rip off 👍

If you can't get an offer you are happy with then simply give notice to leave, no drama required 😀

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

Re: Had enough of sky

Are you in universal credit or pip or DLA as the social tarrif is 20 a month for internet.

I would close account and then go on top cashback and create a new one and get the extra deals

So you got laptop and mobiles as well for £70 a month?

Re: Had enough of sky

@Dionne200881 I think the list under @peter-marlow+1966's post is just the devices he owns, not specifically what he's paying for out of the £70 contract he mentioned.
