Free sky sports offer with free installation

Hi

ive been with Sky for 14 years. I recently moved and I was offered free sky sports for two month on my new install. The engineer said to cancel if they don't call before the 8 weeks. I did this after 5 weeks. I've called twice to do this and still the full charge is on my bill for Sky sports. I've rang again to tell them to cancel and they're saying I have to give 31 Days notice. I didn't request the sky sports so I'm really peeved to have to pay! I'm living alone so 34 pounds is a lot to me! Thanks all

What you were told by the agent is correct. You had to give 31 days notice to cancel and by your own admission left it until 5 weeks into the 8 weeks free offer. You should have cancelled a week earlier. 

Sky will take the full months payment then after a few weeks about 3 weeks of the payment should be reimbursed into your Sky account. This is quite normal.

I have edited my earlier post. The overpayment for Sports will go into your Sky TV account as a credit so in the following payment period less money will be taken.

im a bit miffed as I didn't ask for it, I don't watch but it's a deal offered. He said somebody would call me to ask if I wanted it removing. They didn't call so I called them. Also charged for a free film due to outage.
