Forgot to cancel my direct debit after closing Sky Account. Can I get a refund?

I've recently moved house and closed my account with Sky. My Broadband services ended on the 22nd of April but I completely forgot to cancel my Direct Debit which has come out today!

 

Am I eligible for a refund for this amount as I will not be using the broadband service? 

I've tried calling customer services but their lines are down apparently- so here I am on here asking for help! 😅

There is an ongoing fault which might prevent you from viewing your bill which you should be able to do even though you are a former customer. I would check it either later this evening or tomorrow to see if you can then access your bill to see if there is a credit on it.

Yes.

 

Once your account shows a credit you can ask for a refund.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

I can't see whether my Sky account is in credit or not. But the Direct Debit has definitely left my bank account.
