Father moved to care home
My father has moved into a care home and doesn't have the capacity to deal with cancelling his broadband/TV package. Can I 'take charge' of his account (I have Power of Attorney)? How do I go about cancelling his contract...I'm going to guess it can't be cancelled until the end of his contract despite these unforeseen circumstances.

Hi @CPW2 this page here should be able to explain how you register the POA with Sky https://www.sky.com/help/articles/third-party-assistance

Re: Father moved to care home
@CPW2 first you would need to register his account and POA with the accessibility team and then speak to them about cancelling

Thanks for your help.
Do you think I will be able to get the contract cancelled in these circumstances?

@CPW2 As customers we can't say for certain as they use their discretion on a case by case basis

Hi @CPW2
I had exactly the same situation last month with my mum moving into a home. After calling the number in the link below , I was able to completely cancel my Mum's Sky services (even though she was in contract) , no question asked.
I did not not have POA or anything but called them (without even knowing a/c no or password) in my mum's room in home and they were very helpful and understanding . within a week they they had sent me the returns packaging and her kit was sent back. job done.

Made the phone call today. All wheels are in motion. Didn't need passwords or PoA as you said. Very good service for the circumstances. Thanks again.
