EE scam - someone seems to have taken over my husbands sky account

• There was a call purporting to be from EE. My husband was offered a "good deal" on our phone contact. Then handed to a supervisor. He gave them his email address.
• once the call was finished his email account no longer worked as the password had been changed.

@tob1 has your husband now changed his password? Is it solely his email account that is affected? Is his email account working ok, with no obvious evidence of tampering?
