Unfortunately you agreed to them even if you didn't read them. Initial payments are higher because you pay monthly in advance for your services (again explained in the contract).

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreThis has happened for a couple of reasons, firstly as your first two bills cover more than the usual 4 weeks they will be higher:

Also like other companies Sky are increasing their prices come 1st April which will be reflected in your March bill.

Then why don't they tell you then because they know you won't sign up its a con two price rises in you contract and if you pay upfront then when I leave in June I must owe them nothing g but I bet they charge another month there a disgusting company can't call no answer no online chat but if I was joining they would answer highly recommend people stay away from these con artists

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreI don't think you can call Sky con artists and thieves when it's your fault you didn't research what you were signing up for. Prices increase each April (as do competitors prices too) so in your 18 month minimum term that could include two price rises. You've agreed to this through the T's & C's. When your discounted rate ends after 18 months you'll revert to the full cost unless you cancel or negotiate a new discount.
As to not being able to get through on the phone you just have to persevere, go through the automated triage system and don't hang up if prompted to.

Says it all. Solely your mistake if you didn't read the terms and conditions.
It's unreasonable to label Sky or anyone else as the villain because of your own oversight.

That's not the case for many providers now. As I noted above, best you carefully read the terms of any supplier before commencing.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreAs with sales personnel in any other company, Sky advisers will tell you what they're required to, either legally or by their regulator, but beyond that will major on the positives. They cannot possibly detail all the terms and conditions in a phone call, so it's up to you to ask if you have specific questions, and they must then provide accurate answers.
If you didn't ask, and didn't bother to read the terms and conditions, you have no grounds for complaint.
