My Sky TV is out of contract and I have received an offer to sign up for an eighteen-month Sky Signature contract with a £5 discount a month. My question is does this mean that my current box will be automatically replaced by a Sky Q box? I am happy with my current box and have programmes saved on it that I don't want to lose. If I take advantage of this offer can I keep my current box as I don't want Sky Q?

Probably, yes. Sky would prefer to 'encourage' users to swap Sky+ for Sky Q so that the platform can be closed down: it's now eight years since manufacturing ceased and four years past end of sale.
