Sky don't make it easy, but it's not impossible. How far do you get ?

Your contract doesn't end until you cancel it. It's your discounts that end. If your discounts have ended or are ending soon the best new discounts are normally acquired by calling Sky and negotiating or potentially amending your package which will now require a 24 month minimum term contract. Remember Sky are not obliged to offer you another discount, and recent posts on here indicate that significant discounts are now harder to come by. If you’re offered something acceptable be prepared to agree to it there and then because if you decide to think about it the offer may no longer be available when you call back.

To call Sky dial 150 (free) from a Sky Talk landline or a Sky mobile or alternatively use the following link
https://www.sky.com/help/home
UK customers: Scroll down and click on ‘Need more help’ leading to a number starting 0333.
ROI customers: change the flag in the bottom right corner of the link to the ROI flag then scroll down and click on ‘Need more help’ to see a dedicated ROI number. (Customer Services in the ROI are not open at weekends).

The posting of full phone numbers isn’t permitted on the forum.

Calls to Sky will initially be automated which may try to send you here to the forum, offer you online help or offer to send you a text. Stay on the line as long as possible and saying nothing when asked the reason for the call sometimes helps being put in the queue for an agent.

If you're in the UK, most providers include 0333 numbers like they do for 01 or 02 numbers.

Re: Do Sky want to remove all existing customers?

Well they're losing this one.....

Received an email with yet more increases across various elements of various services (I have Sky TV, Sports, Broadband & Talk).

Phoned to negotiate a deal - which used to work.

On a terrible quality call with someone who could get my bill down a little but actually tried to upsell products I didn't want.

Broadband now out of contract so shopped around - plenty of better deals around (including being a new Sky subscriber!).

Initiate a migration away and receieved an immediate email from Sky (to phone their retention team).

Phoned and got another upseller who couldn't/wouldn't help, on another terrible quality phone line.

Completed switch process to BT (nice and easy and saving £20 per month).

Got another email from Sky - with another phone number. 'It's not too late to stay - we don't want to say goodbye'.

So gave them a third and final chance by phoning again - with yet again a terrible connection.

And this time they couldn't offer anything at all - as Vodafone (who I'm not transferring to) have put a block on it (what? them seeing what they can do to retain me?).

Bonkers & useless.

BT here I come...

Complete waste of time calling Sky - just go elsewhere instead.

@Steve+Joc clearly not a waste of time in some cases.

Re: Do Sky want to remove all existing customers?

Agreed but sadly my 3 attempts got me nowhere so deinititely a waste of time for me.

I guess 25 years and 9 months being a customer is no longer as valued as it once was.

The really didn't try to keep me - that was the real surprise/shock.

Good luck to those who do get something worth getting.

I'm happy to be saving £240 a year and getting a sweetener on top as well (pre-paid card) by going to BT.

Re: Do Sky want to remove all existing customers?

Seems that way for us so called VIP customers and I have recently attempted to downgrade my Sky TV package by phone then text then Whatsapp and all failed.

I'm fortunate to be out of contract so not long now to be rid of Sky.

Complained and spoke to a customer priority services person yesterday who can see all of the above communications that each of the previous advisors denied ever existed.

The Sky TV business model is out of date and making losses and expecting customers to commit to a 24 month contract seems optimistic to me.

Streaming rolling monthly subscriptions appeal more to me now.

Re: Do Sky want to remove all existing customers?

Appears you are correct, despite being a customer for 21 years can't get any joy with Sky. Used to be able to be put through to the UK where you could speak to someone usually in Scotland you could haggle with sensibly. Not any more, I can get an upgraded package for £20 less than Sky  are offering with BT and they guarantee price increaeses of 24 months, whereas Sky hit you with approx £10 every April. Bye Bye Sky!
