Credit balance after leaving sky

Hello, I've had to leave sky after 15 years as customer services were so very rude, not once but over several calls.  I now have a credit balance, phoned as would like this reimbursed.  Again customer services, no luck.  Said needed to speak with finance team but the finance team do not accept calls. Customer service said I've to wait another month.   It'll take a few minutes to expedite a payment, why can't this be done ?  They're so quick to take our money.

Very happy with new supplier who listen & are more than happy to help as an individual rather than merely giving stock answers.

@Lin721
Refunds should take about 6 weeks from your last day of connection (but appear to be taking longer in some cases), however if your payment method has been cancelled Sky will have to manually raise a cheque via a back office team and post it to you so it’ll take even longer.

If the payment method is still active we can try to help get it refunded within 3-5 working days via the Messaging Team on here if you wish.

If the payment method has been cancelled you have two options…
1) you can call Sky to get a cheque raised or
2) we can escalate to the Messaging Team who can re-set your payment method.

Let us know on this thread what you want to do but before we can escalate it to Sky please confirm in your reply whether the payment method is still active.

Re: Credit balance after leaving sky

Payment method (direct debit) is still open.  Bit difficult to even speak with the finance team - tried that, told they don't accept calls.   As soon as this credit is received, hopefully within the 3 to 5 days, I'll be able to advise my bank to stop any further payments being taken.  Lost all trust.

@Lin721
I’ve escalated your post to Sky and their Messaging Team should contact you later.

Look out for a post on this thread from one of the team inviting you to a private chat and then you should see a blue/red speech bubble at the bottom of your forum page. You’ll have 48 hours to click on it and start the private chat or it will close automatically. If you fail to respond to a chat reply within 48 hours the chat will again close down automatically even if your issue hasn’t been resolved. Replies from Sky aren’t instant so you’ll need to check the chat thread periodically.

This link explains what happens.

Re: Credit balance after leaving sky

Hello, like Lin721 I also have a credit balance after having closed my Sky account.  I was originally told it would be paid to me but there is no sign of that process having been started.  Can I please receive an invite for a private chat as well to discuss the refund?

I never had a direct debit set up so i'm guessing the refund will have to be issued via check.  Thanks.

@ogmcd

We could usually help you via here by escalating your post to Sky about this but this is not available at present so you will have to contact them yourself so under “Need more help” if it is available should be the number to use:

https://www.sky.com/help

You can also contact Sky via social media:

@ogmcd

We could normally escalate this to Sky on here via their Messaging Team but unfortunately the process is currently switched off and we don't know when it'll return.

At present you will need to contact Sky and speak to an agent by other means; through social media, Sky Assistant or by calling in perhaps. Providing your payment method is still active they should be able to refund it in 3-5 WORKING days.
