The elderly person will be going in a care home soon. Phoned sky to ask how much is the penalty and was told there will be penalty if I want to cancel. He still has 15 months until his contract ends. Is the info correct ? Thanks

The Sky T&Cs do state that if you are in a minimum term contract you can only cancel early at Sky's discretion and there will be an early termination fee ( usually the remainder of the contract ) that would need to be paid.

Whilst it might seem unfair in your particular, genuine, circumstances, it's the only way to stop people from making up excuses to get out of contracts.
