Changed package still charged for old one

Hi so last week I spent two hours on the phone with sky. My contract had ended and my bill jumped from 70 to 120. After going round in circles for an hour and 45 minutes and being transferred to 4 different departments I was finally transferred  to a human. Within 5 minutes he sorted the matter told me to cancel my old DD as he set up a new one, and said I had 2 weeks to pay the monthly charge of 63 of my new contract. I paid this the following day now I have a message on my screen and text messages stating to contact sky to pay and set up a payment method for the old package. Everytime I ring I am automatically connected to payment dept talking to the text does the same, please help me

@Nightshade66  Changing package should not result in the cancellation of a direct debit and setting up a new one the price will just be adjusted accordingly on the existing dd (unless you switched to glass/stream)

 

I think you have been misinformed has sky can't setup a new dd or reinstate an old one 

 

you will need to reinstate it yourself

Well intentioned, no doubt, but if the bill for your old package had already been produced (two weeks before your specified payment date), it will be processed as normal, regardless of the changes you've made. That will almost certainly  be the reason for the message you've received.

Yes and sky is paid in advance and I had not used any of the services I was billed 140 for. I did as instructed my new package contract I received the same day  on the 19th January the same date the old bill of 140 was to start. I cancelled the old DD and it still says I owe 140 and my next bill will be 140 not the 63 it should be, I should of just cancelled all my sky as I had intending on doing
