Cancelling virgin media

Hi, just joined sky again following a cold call. I was promised cancellation of my existing virgin media and sky would cover the cost. This has not happened as yet and 3 weeks in my virgin is still active and I'm being billed by them. Help what do I do, I'm a pensioner and I cannot afford to be paying both Geoff murray

Sky would only be able to cancel your broadband service with Virgin ( as thy use OFCOM's one touch switching service for broadband switches which works similar to how you switch energy providers). What Sky can't do is cancel any TV services with another provider which has to be done by the account holder following your current providers cancellation process and policy for TV services.

Sky can only cancel your broadband/talk with Virgin via the switching service as the TV you have to cancel this yourself.  If neither have been cancelled then you will need to speak to Virgin about this.

If Virgin charged you an early termination fee then you can get up to £100 in credit for both broadband and TV but you need to put in a claim to Sky as per this:

You must provide a copy of the bill from Virgin where you have been charged and a copy of a statement showing that you have paid it and send these to Sky via this email address - switching credit @Sky.uk (all one word without the gap)
