If you cancel you can not get the online offer unless you have been away for 18 months as when you return you are then seen as a new customer so new customer offers would apply. Return before the 18 months then you are seen as a returning customer so such offers would not apply.

Re: Cancelling sky

I have been with sky for about 10 years and when my bill went sky high I phoned and renegotiated but my bills on line never altered so I phoned again and they offered me a better deal but still my future bills never changed.  So I phoned to cancel and I was within my 14 day cooling periodthat was in February and 13 calls and nearly 4hrs on the phone later I am still no closer to cancelling my future bills tell me I will owe £52 they have just taken out £10.84 and I have an email telling me my contract terminated on 20 April but still they carry on and after numerous promises of call backs I am waitin for one today I will not hold my breath. If nothing happens today I will cancel my direct debit because these clowns are not regulated there is no complaint procedure to speak.

not a wise move as Sky will have greater difficulty in reimbursement of any overpayment.

there is no complaint procedure to speak.

@kensmith

They will almost certainly raise a cheque and post it to you which has to be done manually and therefore takes longer.

The only way they can use your bank details to reimburse you is via a direct debit. They don't have the means to make any other form of direct payment to your bank, which means they'll have to raise a cheque, as @Daniel0210  posted.

Re: Cancelling sky

But to set up a DD they need sort code and account number and to pay into my account they need the same info which they have, it's a bit funny how every other company can manage these things except for big companies like sky

Paying funds directly to your bank uses an entirely different payment system than a direct debit uses, and is one which Sky don't have access to. The only way they can transfer money to your bank is via a direct debit

Re: Cancelling sky

I would highly recomend being very careful with renewing  a contract with SKY, Pay close attention to the dates of the renewed contract,  check if they did not backdate it .

Be sure to verity the dates and ask from written proof of any changes or arragements.
