Cancelling Sky not in my name

We have sky at home, the account is registered in my wife's name although the Direct Debit comes from a joint account.

My wife has moved out and there are issues with finances as I'm currently covering all Direct Debit's including ones her for her sole use so am reviewing all Direct Debits and cancelling what I can.

I assume the contract has a while left to run on it so will incur charges. However, I'm happy to get rid of Sky (for now anyway) to get finances under control. If I cancel the Direct Debit, is it my wife that woud be responsible for any follow up s the contract is in her name or willit come back to me?

@Fruityloop

Your wife needs to cancel the subscription if Sky allow her to. If you cancel the payment method it'll be your wife who Sky chase but obviously that would be through correspondence to the account address.

Thanks for the reply. She wont cancel the subscription herself as she's trying to bleed  me dry at the moment. If she wont cancel it but doesnt live here anymore I guess my only option is to cancel the DD and give Sky a forwarding address for her?

Just cancel the direct debit. Your wife's responsible for sorting out her account.
