Cancellation notice for Sky Broadband and Talk

I will be cancelling my late father's Sky Broadband account as house is hopefully now sold. Entry date for new buyers is 31st October so I want it switched off probably on the 30th October.

I believe notice for Broadband is 14 days. Is that the same for Sky Talk?

Am I able to cancel before the 14 days and specifiy the cut off date or must it be exactly 14 days and if so does that count the day we inform them and the cut off date?

@jemict

Have you already told Sky about the account holder passing away?

@jemict you'll need to speak to Sky to give notice to cancel, so I'd suggest confirming dates with them. I believe you can give notice in advance. Yes, Broadband and Talk have the same 14 days notice requirement.

yes Sky were informed when my father passed away and account passed onto me as we wanted to keep it live for security cameras and my brother occasionally using it when visiting to clear stuff.

@jemict
The below link explains the various methods on cancelling completely.

Return packaging for any equipment Sky expect back will be sent out to the account address only, near the end of the 14 day notice period. Remember to keep any proof of posting indefinitely.
