Cancel tv earliest date ?

Hi,my contract for Sky TV & Fibre ends on the 19th October 2023.i understand I have to give 31 days notice BUT can i/should I contact them before (ie 45 days before) to inform them I want it cancelled NOT to actually cancel it but just to inform them,also as my contract actually ends on the 19th October 2023 what actually date would I phone to actually cancel..I hope you understand these questions

There's no require,ent to contact Sky beforehand, and I can't think of any reason why you should need to. Just give the 31 days notice, if you're intending to cancel.

 

Don't cancel your broadband if you're planning on switching to another provider (unless it's Virgin). Just sign up with your new provider and let them cancel it for you - it's 14 days notice to cancel broadband so you would need to time the switch carefully (if you cancel Sky broadband directly there's likely to be a two week period with no service before a new provider can connect you).

In addition to the above make sure you obtain proof of posting loaned equipment back to Sky - keep it safe and indefinitely.

@worcesterman47  In addition to the above regarding tv cancellation I would refrain from doing so until you are within the final 31 days 

 

reason being is that your 31 day period starts from the date you give it, so giving it any earlier will trigger early termination charges
