Call from SKY - asking for password
Hello,
I received a call from SKY from the number (Removed), saying that he wanted to check if I was on the correct package.
He then asked me my name and address, which I gave for verification, and then he asked me for the telephone password, which I refused.
He then abruptly cut the call.
Is this genuine? And whats with the strange behaviour?
Regards
D

Re: Call from SKY - asking for password
While Sky does ask for telephone passwords so they can verify who you are I would be suspicious of such a call like this.
What you can do if you are not sure if the call is from Sky is to give them a wrong one to see what they then say, if the continue with the call then you will know it is a scammer calling.
If someone has helped you then please click on the LIKES button in their post.
If you need help please provide as much information as you can

It sounds suspicious to me. It's only Sky Protect (run by Domestic & General insurance on Sky's behalf) that might possibly be checking what package you're on a pretext to selling you their insurance service. I don't think they have access to your telephone password so they wouldn't be asking for it.
