Bills due when account has credit

Why is sky saying my payment is overdue when I have credit on my account for both my broadband and my sky tv? I was also told that the first month would be free yet I'm being billed 5 days after installment

I would guess the bill was generated (2 weeks ago) before the credit was added to your account.

If it was installed a week or so ago then where has this credit come from have you made a manual payment as doing so will not stop Sky from taking it from the payment method you have on file so this will happen and the credit can either be used against your next bill or can be refunded to you,
