Bill in credit but my account restricted

My bill is paid however my account keeps telling me it's restricted and i need to pay. Called sky and they told me to talk to the robot on the app .. no joy there. Paying sky for nothing at this point

Did you make a manual payment ?

I made a manual payment and my account is now in credit, its still restricted

So to be clear, your bill wasn't paid on time and your mobile was restricted, you have now made a manual payment to clear what you owed on the bill and the phone is still restricted, if so have you also setup your monthly payment method on your account so a credit/debit card or a direct debit. If you have then you will have to wait until the banks clear the payment you made which might not be until Monday now.

This is exactly what is happening to me too. 
I have given the months notice to close the Sky tv account and paid for the final month, only to be told, when I could eventually get through to speak to someone, that I need to set up a payment plan in order for the account to be closed. This appears to me just to be another way that Sky can get extra payment which isn't owing. It is an indirect scam and I've totally had enough of Sky.

A payment method is required for two reasons, firstly as you hinted at billing does continue right up to the day you leave but after you have left the payment method needs to remain in place so the overpayment which will then appear as a credit can be refunded to you. If this isn't in place then a cheque would need to be missed issued with can take quite a while to be sent out.

@Barkers1 you pay in advance and as you're billed as normal during your notice period, it's very common to be charged beyond the date your services end. Sky will expect this payment to be made and will pursue you if it's not. They will, of course, refund the overpayment from the date your services end. Just set up your method of payment again and let the process follow its normal course.

Thank you for your help. I appreciate that it is a good idea in order to have any overpayment paid but there will not be any additional payment required now that I have managed to speak to someone.

my bill was paid ontime, due to a bank accout change i made a manual payment and set up direct debit, my account is currently in credit and has been for over a week

Did the direct debit fail ?
