Being charged monthly for a cancelled package (equipment returned)
I switched to Virgin Media in July.
My Sky equipment has been returned.
however, I've received a bill for the TV package and I have future bills predicted for said tv package
there is an issue with the cancellation fee as Virgin are supposed to have settled this.
Why am I being billed for sky signature when you have the equipment back? I did have broadband talk and TV so there is an error if you think I have sky tv still.
im on pension credit I can't afford your bill for a service I don't have and my new Virgin package.
please can someone look at my account
thank you
Sheila

Re: Being charged monthly for a cancelled package (equipment returned)
This is a customer led discussion forum where Sky customers are here to try to help other customers. You aren’t speaking to Sky Customer Services here.
If you used the switching method that is only for broadband and you therefore haven't cancelled your TV subscription.
To fully cancel your TV subscription, if you’re out of contract you’ll need to give Sky the required 31 days notice. The latest T’s and C’s explicitly state you can’t cancel when still in a minimum term deal unless Sky agree. (If they agree you’ll have to pay the remainder of your discounted term).
See the below link
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/cancel-sky-tv
Select ‘No, I still need help’ at the bottom of the link which will lead to contact methods.
(Make sure the flag in the bottom right corner is the correct one ie; UK or ROI).
UK customer ~ It may include an email link and also a Message Us option (which is normally available between 9am and 7.30pm).
ROI customer ~ there’s a text option (Monday-Friday 9am to 4:30pm) otherwise it’s only by calling Sky Ireland or writing in.
If you successfully cancel you should receive an acknowledgment email from Sky.
NOTE: I only provide help on the forum boards so Direct Messaging is switched off

@SheilaM2022 sending the equipment back does not cancel your subscription, I'm afraid.

Re: Being charged monthly for a cancelled package (equipment returned)
Virgin cannot cancel your Sky TV account.
Unless you've explictly cancelled directly to Sky then you still have a TV account (even if you've sent the equipment back).
If Virgin suggested they could then your complaint is with them...
