Been charged £200 when trying to pay online.. what can I do?

I tried to pay a £25 bill over the phone. The guy over the phone kept saying there was something wrong with the card or I wasn't entering details correctly.

He told me to enter the details a total of 8 times and now I have been charged £200.

cant seem to speak to anyone.

How do I get them to refund me?

@Pix101 when you speak to Sky to request the refund, ask them how you can add the missing account to the SkyID you're using for your other account(s). Then they'll all be in one place.

Sky require you to pay by direct debit or automatic monthly card payments.

@Pix101

Your duplicate thread has been removed.

Is this possibly connected to your account problems you reported yesterday?

The Customer Service lines aren't open 24/7 so you won't get through overnight.

To process the refund of the £175 you will need to persevere on the phone I'm afraid. The option of getting you help via the Messaging Team is currently not available.

By the way, you should have a direct debit or continuous card payment set up which woukd mean you never need to make manual payments.

Re: Been charged £200 when trying to pay online.. what can I do?

It used to be direct debit. Then when I was due an upgrade the contract conveniently disappeared. I don't know why. I've managed to sort it by creating a new sky id.

i paid the £25 bill now. But have been charged an extra £200 because guy over the phone didn't know what he was doing. Asked me to type my card details 8 times. Then said my card wasn't working when there was nothing wrong with it.

This is not okay. Been a loyal customer for over 5 years and I've only ever had 1 sky account and set everything up in that account. Contracts should not just disappear like that.

@Pix101 If you have attempted to contact Sky without success, you can also ask your bank to refund the money to you, as you paid by card.

If you use a bank app, this can often be done through the app.
