Re: Are Sky Happy to Lose Customers?

I'm in my final month and just given notice.

I'm going to give NowTV a go, since it has the main sky channels / box sets I watch. its £6.99 for 6 months then £9.99.

You can canel after 6 months so a £42 commitment.

I see they also offer an Ultra Boost pack for £9.00 which gives

  • 4K viewing,
  • Dolby Atmos,
  • multi room (watch on three devices at once)
  • skip the adverts

Sports and Movies can be added on a monthly basis too.

@RCALB NowTV *is* Sky...

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

Without a long contract

Re: Are Sky Happy to Lose Customers?

People are broadly satisfied with the sky offerings, but the renewal subscriptions are forcing many to reassess the value of sky.

Sky have been losing sports rights and filming studio's to other streaming platforms for years and no longer have exclusivity.

Sky still position themselves as a premium provider. I would disagree.

If anyone is hooked on particular Sky shows not shown on other platforms, NowTV could be an option without having to enter a 24 month contract.

Not satisfied anymore .

Content has declined over time to a point where I feel it is not worth having now.

One workable definition of 'premium' is simply 'expensive'

Alternatively, 'an amount paid over and above intrinsic value'

I've just swapped to Apple TV. Much better service at a fraction of the cost. Sky has been gradually getting worse and more expensive for years. Customer service is worst I've experienced in as long as I can remember

So true, I feel and have been treated exactly the same way. It was over due , I should have left a year ago.

Freely (streamed version of Freeview) is available on some new TV's now, but no set top box at the moment.

For multi room, I use Ethernet over Power so I can get ethernet connection at every electrical outlet in the house.

This will be interesting if it actually arrives:

Re: Are Sky Happy to Lose Customers?

I have been a sky customer for nearly 20 years, like you my bills were getting higher and higher so I called them and said I can't afford my bills, I think I will have to cancel my contract with you, the person on the other end of the call simply said "ok let us know when you decide to cancel and I will help you with that", no help, no offers, no lowering my bills, nothing, when I did finally cancel my broadband, I was told that if I ever wanted to rejoin I would probably get a really good price as I would be a new customer, now sky is trying to charge me £375 for cancelling my BB within 9 days of signing a new contract, which I only did because my contract ended that day and I hadn't signed with a new company yet, I was well within my cooling off period, no loyalty, no help, just scammers

Re: Are Sky Happy to Lose Customers?

Make a formal complaint... don't waste your time with customer services.

Also look at the the T@C's of the new contract they will have sent you. Look at the cancellations policy. I figure a New Contract  would reinstate the cooling off period.

Re: Are Sky Happy to Lose Customers?

After all the hassle I got from them in the Summer of 2025. I eventually quit Sky TV. Two days ago, they sent me an offer of Sky Ultimate for £15 per month, reduced from £35 per month. If Sky were the last provider on earth, I wouldn't touch them again. I was a Sky Gold Customer (Sky's own terminology), but they treated me like dirt. Loyalty counts for nothing these days.
