Apple TV 6 months free offer on Sky VIP - or not...

I have tried to redeem this offer from the SKY VIP App but the link doesn't work.

I click Giveaways,  select the offer, click the unigue link, selct Redeem Now, then it looks for an offer. After a short while and spinning, nothing happens.

I move the link to the computer and it says page not found.  Any ideas please?

It was still showing as available this morning when I entered some competitions and it said as I have never claimed before I could redeem. Now showing as redeemed but link doesn't work as still live on the app under giveaways 😞

@Mark39

It did but it might be showing again for those that didn't take it up previously, this will be why I see it again.

I'm having the same issue. I sign in with my apple id, confirm the cvc from my card, approve the transaction in my banking app then go back to the page to click 'continue'. It then says connecting... But never loads. I have tried it 6 times across yesterday and today with the same result.

tried logging on via the TV, scanned the code and it says I have to pay £6.99 a month. Treid calling sky, held for 20 minutes. Finally answered and then the line went dead.

Any chance someone from Sky can call me?

Sky won't who you are from your post here, I'm afraid.

Hey, had the same problem. Worked out that we had to have the Apple TV app installed on my phone in order to activate it... did this and it worked 🙂

I'm having exactly the same problem as this.   It can't be just us? Surely there's a bigger problem here

I managed to sort it.  I called Apple support, they have had a few calls, they added a code to my App Store which pulled through the 6 months offer until March and it worked instantly.

If you ask Apple to screen share your phone display to show the issue they sorted it straight away and talked me through adding the code in the App Store.

Great thanks for the reply.  I'll get onto them about it.

Re: Apple TV 6 months free offer on Sky VIP - or not...

I tried to ask for help through apple live chat and they called me back but couldn't fix it and told me to call Sky.  They said they can't give me a promotional code, they can only replace one if it wasn't working properly. But on the process I am following through the sky VIP app it never gives an actual code. Not sure if part of the problem is that I have an Android phone? Although I shouldn't matter as I am able to successfully sign in with my apple id.

I will call Sky but I am not holding out much hope that they will fix it tbh.

Re: Apple TV 6 months free offer on Sky VIP - or not...

@Spangelina88 yeah that's where I'm at too.  Apple chat said they couldn't help even though I can log in and confirm payment details until the connecting screen.  It seems I've gotten as far as apple tv and does seem to be an android issue which would make it an issue with apple.   Unless sky are able to discount 6 months of the price of the bill somehow?

Re: Apple TV 6 months free offer on Sky VIP - or not...

The hyperlink link in the app you click that takes you through to check the deal,  if you copy this into an email and try it says page not found.  Sky couldn't sort it for me.  Called Apple, got them to share my phone screen so they could see it issue and then they added a code into my App Store on my phone.  You must make sure the Apple ID you use in your phone is the same one on the app on the tv so they link.
