Hello good afternoon!

 

ive been with sky 6years full package including multi room cinema,sky sports netflix and disney (no tnt sports or kids) basic broadband! I checked my bill recently as ive been paying crazy amounts and my bills each month are £189.99! Which is stupid its sky q with everything ive said. As i love sky loyal for 6years i contacted them on live chat to renegiotate a new contract however there offer was still far to high i believe £136.99 i get that disney plus is £12.99 a month but still far to high and even went as far as looking at what competitors was offering and showed the chat advisor this. Virgin media 200mp fibre internet all same tv package except disney plus £74.99 and thats 24month contract so id be paying £87.98 a month with my disney plus and have fibre intermet instead of broadband! The problem is as a loyal customer i thought they would better there deal seeing as ive done my homework etc but the web chat agent was really what can i say? Not bothered? He said no we have offered you the best deal you will have to change to them then so i asked to cancel. Im very frustrated at this i love sky the layout etc and not keen on moving but canmot afford nearly double to what i can pay with virgin media any help in how i can get the deal lower? Or do you think thats it? If i really have to move on i will but dont want to. I put my cancellation in 3days ago no call from cancellation team as yet and its due to end 23rd oct

The deal with Virgin will be for new customers. You aren't a new Sky customer.

 

Better discounts are offered to new customers as an incentive for them to join. Most providers do this. 

 

If you choose to jump ship and go with another provider then in 18/24 months you'll be in the same position with that provider and if you want you'll be able to return to Sky as a new customer and gain the benefits available at that time.

I totally understand that but surelly they could offer a better deal then what they have offered me

It would seem not at present. Significant discounts are harder to come by these days so if you’re offered something acceptable be prepared to agree to it there and then because if you decide to think about it the offer is unlikely to be available when you call back.

@Seanridz so Sky's offer is £1643  per annum + £174 (for a  UK TV license) = £1817.

Only you can answer if your love and loyalty to Sky is worth that amount.

After 2 decades, I am still weaning  myself away from the belief that that my world will collapse without Sky TV, Q,  multi room etc. but I am getting there... Only Stream remains to let go of 😉

Suggest you continue to do the sums per month/ per year. 

Also do an audit as to what is watched in your household eg YouTube is viewed most by my household so I subscribe to YT Premium.  Next are  BBC, ITV and other channels covered by the TV License. 

Finally, son loves F1 and football... a Now TV subscription with Ultra Boost means we can watch both in UHD on our lounge TV (+ 3 other devices) for £31.

Rolling monthly subscriptions are used for Netflix, Disney+, Prime, etc. 

Fast reliable broadband in every room is our need for work, TV and entertainment.
