Ageing mother moving out of home being charged £360 to end Sky contract

After my dad died my 88 year old mother continued with a  Sky contract for her Broadband and Telephone servives. Since she took out the contract her health has rapidly deterioated and she is haveing to leave her family home for care elsewhere. Phoned Sky help to cancel her service for her and was told by a very unsympathetic person that it would cost £360 to do so. As my mother just has her state pension as income this is  a bit of a nasty shock for her. As you can't email anyone at Sky does anyone know if they should be offering as a Good Will Gesture a reduction in this vast amount. Mum and Dad have been with Sky since the 80s and I think the way she has been treated is appalling customer service. Any advice greatfully received.

@Hillio

By all means contact Sky again where you'll almost certainly speak to a different agent however - if they were in a minimum term discounted deal Sky can and do apply early termination charges. Their discounts were based on them paying the bill for the full 24 months.

@Hillio you could also try Sky's Accessibility team who might be able to help, given the circumstances: https://skyaccessibility.sky
