@Joanne911
Refunds should normally take about 6 weeks from your last day of connection, but recent posts on here suggest in some cases it is taking longer.

We can potentially help you get it refunded within 3-5 working days via the Messaging Team on here if you wish. Let us know on this thread if you want to do that.

Note that if your payment method has been cancelled Sky will either have to reinstate your payment method or manually raise a cheque via a back office team and post it to you so it’ll it further delayed.

Before we can escalate it to Sky please confirm in your reply if it’s currently showing as a credit on your Sky account and whether the payment method is still active.

@Joanne911
I’ve escalated your post to Sky and their Messaging Team should contact you later.

Look out for a post on this thread from one of the team inviting you to a private chat and then you should see a blue/red speech bubble at the bottom of your forum page. You’ll have just 48 hours to click on it and start the private chat or it will close automatically. If you fail to respond to a chat reply within 48 hours the chat will again close down automatically even if your issue hasn’t been resolved. Replies from Sky aren’t instant so you’ll need to check the chat thread periodically.

This link explains what happens.

Re: Account in credit, refund

Sky need to contact me.

I had been with sky for over 18 years, I left sky on the 25 March 2025.

I gave sky a month's notice out of courtesy. I was not obligated to do this as I was out of contract.

Yet sky still saw fit to remove funds from my account, an unauthorised transaction.

My sky account is now showing as in credit, and that this will go towards my next bill, even though I now have no sky packages with sky.

This needs refunding back to the original payment method.

Kind regards,

You were obliged to. If your discounts had expired you have to give 31 days notice when cancelling.

Yet sky still saw fit to remove funds from my account, an unauthorised transaction.

It was authorised. The bills are generated 14 days before the payment date, so whilst you were still in a notice period.

Hi @Sylas80   I'm afraid that Sky will not contact you on the back of a public community forum. Please see Welcome below. You also appear to be confusing minimum term with contract. Your contract would have only terminated after you had given the required 31 days notice of cancellation.

Re: Account in credit, refund

I've reached out to sky, for a sky employee to respond to me on here. Notice all the other times on this topic that a sky employee has responded. I'd expect the same customer service.

Also, notice on these community forums, all the other times that sky have obtained funds their not entitled to.

I'll have two choices...

If I'm left with no choice but to phone sky because of their mistake, I'll be charging the calls to sky, furthermore, if sky fail to refund the over payment they've taken and any extra costs incurred to me because of their mistake. I'll have no choice but to take them to a small claims court.

If sky can't be bothered to rectify their mistake, of obtaining funds they're not entitled to, then I'll just have to do a debit guarantee with my bank  [Removed]

You've been offered the option of an online private chat with Sky's messaging team but haven't deigned to respond.

@Rachy1983

What's triggered the refund? Have you cancelled your subscription?

Credit refund

I have cancelled my sky account all equipment returned, and an email received stating they have it.

I am in credit and find it hard to get a refund.

I do t want to waste more money  by phoning them is there a link to access a refund from.
