Re: 2025 April Price Increase is 14.9%
@JasonTurner1970
Unless you’ve recently changed your subscription, prices go up for either the annual price increase (April in the UK) or when your discounts have ended (or a combination of the two).
Sky will have told you the date any discount was ending when you took it out so if it has ended you’ll be paying the full undiscounted price.
Perhaps compare a previous bill to your latest bill and see where the amounts differ
www.sky.com/bill.
If you’re no longer in a discounted minimum term, or its ending soon the best new discounts are normally acquired by calling Sky and negotiating or potentially amending your package which will now require a 24 month minimum term contract. Sky are not obliged to offer you another discount, and recent posts on here indicate that significant discounts are now harder to come by. If you’re offered something acceptable be prepared to agree to it there and then because if you decide to think about it the offer may no longer be available when you call back.

Hi @JasonTurner1970 if you compare your previous, current and future bills you should be able to work it out yourself,

Not true
I signed up to a discounted package and 2 months later they put it up stating the percentage is on the non discounted rate so a little devious offering discounts. I will definitely be cancelling all my Sky services when the contracts end

Its done on the non discounted price as all customers have different discounts so all the millions of customers will be paying different amounts and therefore it has to the list price which is what the percentage increase is decided upon.
People who sign up in March, prior to the price rise being implement but after they have been announced are given a 2 month price protection, so essentially the price rise is delayed by 2 months.

It's a change of policy which is not made clear, small print is not clear so as I have said it won't happen again as I will be cancelling

Its not a change of policy its been that way for a while. Unfortunately things like this are always in the T&Cs, and it is prudent to read them eihter before signing up or within the cooling off period fo a service, allowing you to exit penalty free if you aren't happy to accept the T&Cs.

This has never been an issue until recently, Sky have in my opinion used this to increase subscription costs above inflation. Terms and conditions should be explained during contract discussions and it is obvious to me that it is a change in policy to raise profits but we live and learn

The entire industry, including Sky's competitors, have raised prices above inflation. And above inflationary price rises will likely be the norm with the recent changes OFCOM made for broadband providers.
Again, the way Sky implement the price rise has always been a percentage on the list price of each pack ( its not a gurantee that each pack/service will increase every year, some years some packs haven't increased at all), there is nothing new this year with the way the process has been implemented.
