2025 April Price Increase is 14.9%

Just had my Sky price increase email come through. I only have a TV package and it has gone up 14.9%. Are they even allowed to do this? The contract seems to indicate 10% is the maximum?

Hi @Darren+Hatcher

You are getting a massive discount on Sky Signature.

Indeed.  The percentage increase has to be taken on the list price not the net discounted price.  It will be less than 10%, so within the contract terms.

Hi @Darren+Hatcher   How are you calculating that increase. It should be based on the list price ignoring discounts. Perhaps you could show us the figures?

Re: 2025 April Price Increase is 14.9%

Current Bill is £70.50

Increase is

Sky signature +£6.50

Sky Sports +£1.00

Netflix Premium +£2.49

This makes my new monthly bill £80.49 which is approx a 14.9% increase by my calculations.

Netflix rise is from Netflix themselves I think. What percentage is your rise if you take Netflix out of the equation?

Hi @Darren+Hatcher   You are not showing the full picture. My Sky signature has increased £4. What are your list prices before the increase for each element. Has a discount finished?

Re: 2025 April Price Increase is 14.9%

Hi @MightyQuinn

Sky signature:

Currently paying £19 so going up to £25.50

Sky Sports:

£22 going up to £23

Netflix Boost:

£7 going up to £9.49.

Is that what you needed?

  • Thanks

Sky are just using the small print to inflate prices if you agree a contract and they increase by over 10 percent it is immoral

i have just had mine increased by 13 percent so obviously not happy. When my contract ends I

I agree, at the end of the day the increase is 14% to me, irrelevant of whether I have got a good deal or not.

Quite possibly, but nonetheless entirely legal.  That's kind of the point of those 'small print' pages...

I read the contract - can someone direct me to the small print as it appears to be all the same size?
