18 Years of loyalty and I can get a better deal as a new customer

So, 18 continuous years as a SKY customer, not someone who takes advantage of VIP rewards.  Annual renewal bun fight, normally get through to the ladies in Scotland who have always been first class in keeping costs down. Spoke to a different 'retentions expert' who was unable to do anything but raise, raise and raise each package that I currently subscribe to including sky sports.

Went onto a new search engine, set up a new package as a new sky user and its a massive difference and fixed for 24 months.  I can get Sky Sports as a new customer for £20.00 for 24 months instead of £33!!! Other than getting sky rewards (which I dont use) what is the point of staying with someone for so long that they completely disregard the levels of service given?  I get new customers are hard to get through the door but staying with someone so long should count as something.

Yes, 'new customer' deals are a loss leader which is why existing customers do not get them.

Submitting a cancellation may extract a better offer.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers
