topic Security Password in Account & Billing

I had a problem with my account so I called Sky. The person I spoke with asked for my security password. Is that normal protocol for Sky?

I had a similar experience recently with another company who only wanted certain letters from my passcode, which feels a more secure way of doing it.

@Cris121

It's normal. Sky will ask for the previously agreed telephone password so they can be sure you're the account holder.

Just to add ~

With any calls supposedly from 'Sky' (especially unexpected calls) if the caller asks for your previously agreed telephone password to confirm you're the account holder (which I would expect a genuine Sky agent to do) initially give an INCORRECT one on purpose. If the caller doesn't challenge it then you know it will be a scam call.
