IMHO... Sky Q is the best, but it appears Sky/ Comcast is more focused on the streaming services, Stream, Glass (and NOW?) and moving away from satellite.

I had Q and loved it.

However, I did not think it was worth the money Sky were charging and left. I struggle to see it as good value to pay £165 pm/ £1980 pa to watch TV, even though I can afford it.

My deal is running out and I will shortly got to standard rate of £175/month. They are offering a £10 discount, so £165/month. Seems very high. I know I've got pretty much everything but when comparing to the standard (before discounts) for new customers it's about £50 more. Is it £50 just because of Sky Q?

@Siggy75

New customers are offered good discounts as an incentive to join. Most companies do this now. You probably took advantage of such a new customer deal when you first joined Sky.

If you can't negotiate an acceptable price for renewing then perhaps consider a move to an alternative provider, but when that deal nears its end you'll be in the same position with them, and will be able to rejoin Sky if you wish and take up any new customer deals available at that time.

Comcast do appear to prioritise getting new customers over retaining long standing ones. As other providers do this too it seems to be a common theme.

It looks like you will be paying the standard prices for what you have on your account, I'm not sure having Sky Q has anything to do with it.

Sky Q is no longer advertised on line even for new customers, only available by requesting it by phone.

I did say in my post that I was comparing prices to new customers BEFORE discounts. I've been with Sky for 25 years so I'm aware that new customers do get discounts. I seem to have various legacy packages on my account so it's hard to see if I'm on the right package. I've had discounts in the past but they don't seem to change the packages. For example I've got three entries for HD/UHD totalling £15 (including a £4 discount), whereas the standard price seems to be £6 for new customers BEFORE discounts. So is it just a premium for Sky Q?

Sky stream dose not have any SD channels, only Sky Q has the HD add on at £9 without discount. However that only realy the signature entertainment package and on demand content. As Sky sports, Sky Cinema and TNT sports are only in HD these days and the relvent subscription has HD include in the basic subscription, with Sky Cinema included in the standard subscription, sky sports dose have a separate HD add on subscription but it not realy a extra as you can not have sky sports with tha add on so realy it just part Sky sports price and the same gose for TNT sport also has HD add on with that subscription but this case in most bill it show as £0.00. It is same price structure if you still have Sky HD+ box
