I re-negotiated a 24 month contract last May. Why are prices going up in August?

The annual price rise occurs in April for UK customers. If you join or renew around that period the proposed increase is sometimes deferred for a few months and is then applied. It's kind of a grace period so you don't get hit by the price increase immediately. Your next price increase after that (we have to assume there will be one) will be in April 2027.

Thanks for replying. My contract was two years and re-negotiated in May 2025 though. I'm wondering why there are price increases now?

Unfortunately they are not fixed price.

Annoyingly, it seems they introduce rises for those who 'missed' the April increases. I personally don't like it...

Thanks for replies. Checked bill earlier and price rises are for Ultimate TV package, Full fibre and Sky Talk Anytime. Seems like they are just raising random prices of subscriptions for no reason. I know that they can alter prices, it just seems very suspicious that I re-negotiated to get prices down last year but now they are much higher than before. Looks like I'll have to go through the rigmarole of re-negotiating and threatening to leave next May in an attempt to get prices back down!

Final point though - shouldn't I have been notified about price changes? I haven't had any emails about this!

Yes... But the accounts are often updated whilst they are sending this notification. (And it may detail your options as you may be able to leave penalty free depending on the circumstances)
