Possible SPAM CALL?

I keep getting a call everyday from that number [Removed]

Online it says its Sky but others have said Spam so I'm a bit confused. One person also said they call and instead of offering to lower your deal you end up paying more. If someone has answered this call please let me know what they call about. Thanks

Unless you are expecting a call from Sky don't answer it.

Scammers can easily spoof 'genuine' numbers. Frankly, I wouldn't entertain any such incoming calls.

If you want a better deal etc. then initiate a call yourself to the official number.

I'm fed up with Sky. They have the most useless customer service and so called help facility I have ever had to contact. If the telephone number belongs to Sky why can't they just say so instead of saying it might be cloned. Sounds like Sky are just trying for more money from us.

Thanks Dave but situation is getting worse, I've tried time after time calling Sky and it's a minefeld trying to get through to someone responsible. Chat, is a waste of time and these numbers keep changing, I've had eight calls in two days and£ it's no fun going up and down stairs because of spam calls. We use our landline a lot but am now even getting calls on my mobile so someone is passing on our numbers, who?

Scammers usually robocall every number in a sequence. If somebody answers, they know the number is live and will continue to pester you. You might want to invest in a phone with Truecall built in, or if you're with Sky for your landline, activate the free Sky Talk Shield. Both have a screening feature which requires callers to say who they are before the call is passed to you to accept or refuse. Known callers can bypass the screening. It's very effective.

Mark, that's great but surely we should not have to take this action. The telephone companies should vet companies before handing them out. Why is it always the consumer that has the hassle?

That would be a breach of data protection requirements. The only people Sky pass on contact details to, with permission you've already given them, is to Sky Protect, administered by Domestic and General Finance.
