Sky don't offer hire purchase.

When you are buying hardware like a Glass TV or a mobile phone, you can either pay up front or you pay it via a credit agreement. Its not a hire purchase as you own the hardware upfront, and have to pay off the credit agreement regardless ( unless you return the hardware within 31 days under consumer law).

Any purchases under credit agreements will require various credit checks to pass.

If you have failed the credit check (not HP) then the only way to get the device or Sky Glass TV would be to pay in full at the ordering stage.

Is there a reason you're posting in all capital letters (referred to as shouting) to customers.

If you contact Sky they would be able to confirm a failed credit check was the reason your order was cancelled but not why you failed the credit check in the first place as they are not allowed to view your credit record. You would have to sign up to a credit reference agency like Experian or Equifax, which would give you access to your credit record.

Also perhaps check that Sky have the correct spelling of your name.

Any upfront payment you’ve made should be refunded after about 14 days but recent posts suggest it’s taking a bit longer in which case you’ll need to contact Sky to chase it up.

The actual score is an arbitrary number (which is why the score is different based on the credit agency) based on a number of different factors. When companies are doing credit checks, they aren't looking at your score per se; they are looking specifically at a handful of criteria they deem important.

Having a high credit score doens't mean you will be accepted for all types of credit, all the credit score means is that in general you would have a high likelihood of passing relevant credit checks, but that will still depend on what factors and thresholds a company is looking at when they do the credit check,
