As far as your argument they can not be free as Netflix want paying for them. Yes Sky are paying for the service, just like Sky are paying Disney plus and HBO max for there services which subscribers of ultimate on Sky stream and subribers with signature on Sky Q get on the package at no extra cost. You can't say they we are paying for these basic tiers as they have been add our package, but our subscription has not increased since these items were add to the package, I am still paying the same amount now that what I was paying before I activated these service. So if these providers may want the money for there services and as there is no extra on subscribers bills Sky must be bearing the cost not the subscriber.

Charged for Netflix

I just recently took out the package of ultimate TV and 300mb fibre costing £41pm. I added multiroom for an additional £8pm. My bill should be £49pm, but it will be £54. I have contacted sky and they keep saying the Netflix costs money on top of my package, when they advertise it as part of that cost. While I was on the phone ordering my new deal, I was offered Netflix without ads free for 4 months, rising to £6 in July - my future bills are showing this charge, but I am currently getting Netflix without ads still. When checking the deals through the website, it gives the option to add Netflix with ads for £6pm on top of the £41 - so how am I being charged £6 for something that's already included? Customer service are saying that I can cancel this cost, but I'll lose Netflix altogether. How can they charge extra for something that is advertised as included? I'm incredibly fustrated, I have been on the phone, and raised a complaint, and they aren't seeing it! Sombody please help me before I lose my mind.

Of course the Ad revenue also helps them as does the extra revenue from people "upgrading" to avoid those Ads.

I pay the extra £6 a month for Netflix ad free, and have just been told that to allow this to happen, I have been paying a further £5.50. So in effect, I have been paying £11.50 for ad removal. Apparently, the netflix included in my plan with ads, needs another £5.50 to allow the ads removal, for which I pay another £6. Utterly absurd and am raising a complaint now. And no, I do not understand either....

Initial Contract

TV with Netflix that has ads £28 a month (which has gone up mid contract, now £30.60 and going up again to £32.60 next month)
Nexflix standard £5.50 (apparently the contract included version doenst allow ad removal so have to change it to this)

Netflix ad removal £6
