@Luc7
The T's and C's you’ve agreed to state you should have a direct debit or continuous card payment method set up meaning you don’t need to make a manual payment unless your services have been restricted.

Once Sky have processed the planned payment they are expecting, a credit should appear on your Sky account for the amount you have overpaid. This credit should automatically be used to pay your next months bill so on that bill date no/less money should be taken from your account. I would suggest NOT making any manual payments unless requested to by Sky.

If you prefer, once your extra payment is showing as a credit, we can perhaps get you some help in getting it refunded (within the standard 3-5 WORKING days) through staff from the Community Messaging Team on here. Let us know on this thread if you want to do that but please confirm it’s currently showing as a credit.

Hi guys, I missed a bank payment to sky so I went online and paid it instead, well now it's saying my account is in credit and will be taken to cover next bill, except they are still trying to take money from the bank? I'm so confused, please help, Bry

@Bry94 If you have a continuous payment method setup you should never need to make a manual payment as it won’t stop the automatic payment process if you make the manual payment 4 days before payment due date as the payment request has already been submitted

For direct debits if first attempt fails sky try again 10 calendar days later automatically and if second attempt fails your service will be restricted and that's the point to make a manual payment

you need to let sky take payment as normal because your payment has been applied to next month's bill not the bill that is due to be paid now

You can now either leave the overpayment on your account as credit to use against a future bill you can either contact Sky and request a refund which will take 3-5 working days to complete

Or alternatively we can get help for you regarding a refund via the Community Messaging Team on here if you wish. Let us know on this thread if you want to do that.

Before we can escalate it to Sky please confirm in your reply that it’s currently showing as a credit on your Sky account and if the payment method is still active.

For future reference if you want to make a manual payment to prevent the automatic payment being taken you need to make sure that the total bill amount is showing as credit on your Sky account 4 working days before your payment due date

In a nutshell the manual payment was unnecessary and has correctly gone as a credit on your Sky account, and then if the planned payment Sky try to take fails your services stand the risk of being restricted.
