If they ask for any thing else hang up and even they do give them a wrong password first of all and see if they chalange it if they don't again hang up.

@Nicjohn14

It is a scam.

They try to obtain sufficient information to be able to order expensive mobile devices under your name which Sky innocently deliver to you.

The scammers would then recontact you (again claiming to be Sky) saying they ve made a mistake and for you to send it to a (non Sky) address. If you did that they then have the device and you have the bill.

They are very cunning. They may send packaging to post the item (to them) or even send a 'courier' to collect it.

See this link

https://www.sky.com/help/articles/account-takeover

With any calls from 'Sky' (especially unexpected calls) if the caller asks for your previously agreed telephone password to confirm you're the account holder (which I would expect a genuine Sky agent to do) initially give an INCORRECT one on purpose. If the caller doesn't challenge it then you know it'll likely be a scam call.

I too have just received a call from a Basingstoke number, but sounded more like an Asian call centre, offering me a 40% discount on my Sky bill. I assumed it was a scam, so hung up.

It seems to be doing the rounds today, I had a call claiming they were from "SKY Services" and that I was able to get a 40% reduction on my bill, it came through on a mobile number 07412 555*** . I told her thats strange my contract was only recently done, she tried to persuade that this overides that.... really, Sky will give me 40% 🤣🤣🤣, I only answered as I was waiting a work call, the woman didnt like me telling her I was working and insisted they call me back later.... Stay alert out there 🙂🙄

But I got my iPhone to scan unknown number calls before my phone actually rings they greeted with the message of who calling and why. Most of them just hang up all I get is banner come up that I have incoming call with number that rung. Unless it some body I might know they will not ring again as I go to the number in my call list and block them. The number of calls I have blocked I must be near my phones limit of number I can block.
