i am looking at ordering some tech but before i do i would like to know the following:

once the credit agreement is in place am i able to make addational payments on top off the agreed amount?

You can and when you are ready to do this it is always advisable to call Sky so they can take the payment as it is all to easy to not make a payment against the credit agreement but to instead do it against the bill which would then appear on your account as a credit.
