If you contacted Sky via an official source and they have said to call that number then I would have thought it would be legit. The alternative would be to call them and ask them to be transferred to a department that can help.

One further option is to see if you can turn 2FA off so that you can set it up again with your new number. To do this you just need to sign in with the recovery code you were asked onscreen to make a note of.

Ok thank you for the advice, just i googled the number and found nothing for it, i mean all i found was some sites saying it was a scam number.

This is why i wanted to ask here, as for the 2FA i dont have access to the number thats with it and i dont have the backup code either, infact i dont ever remember agreeing to setting up 2FA. And i been a customer at sky for over 14 years now.

So where who do i turn to when i dont have either of those i can access ?

I did try live chat and someone said that it would be removed within 24 hours if i gave them my box serial number which i did. And nothing ever came from it.

I did save the chat log to word.
