Usually when Sky transfer a debt issue to a Debt Recovery company you have to deal solely with that company. Sky would only be able to tell you the name of the company and it's contact details and little more.

We have been informed that Sky don't allow promises to pay on live active accounts so guessing here that your Sky subscription has been cancelled.

Sky billing miscommunication

So I have previously had an outstanding debt with Sky, which I have acknowledged and set up a promise to pay with themselves. Despite the promise to pay and making regular and on time payments, I was still receiving communication from Sky via email that I have an outstanding payment and that it will be taken further if I do not make payment. Upon receiving the email, I called Sky who advised that the emails are just automated and not to worry and that it is simply a 'reminder'. However today I have received an email from a collection agency stating that they now have control over the outstanding balance. Despite me setting up a promise to pay with Sky and never falling outside of the agreement.

I am frustrated that despite an advisor told me 'not to worry' and that the emails were simply a 'reminder', I am now receiving communication from external collection agencies. I have opened a complaint with Sky, however their communication is not great either. I am looking for further advice.
