Downgrade during my contract?

Hi,

I have the full Sky package but am looking to downgrade even though my minimum term does not end until next September.

Costs are high for the service and having read on some other forums it is possible to downgrade to Sky Q Essentials, which is effectively freeview but with the ability to still record programmes using the box.

Has anyone been able to do this? I do not want Sky Stream by the way!

Sky chose to permit that during the pandemic: they don't have to accept any such request within a current minimum term.
