So i am a little confused as I've been reviewing my bills and payments and have noticed I have made two payments this month could you please explain why two direct debits have gone out for the same month or if I've been mistaken or confused along the way could you further explain

If your bills are being paid via a direct debit then there is no need to make any manual payments if this is what you have been doing.
